The Parts Of An Above Ground Pool Frame

Posted on

Above-ground pools are usually made of a variety of materials, including metal, resin, and wood, and their frames consist of several different parts. Here are the different parts of an above-ground pool steel frame.

Uprights

Uprights are a critical component of an above-ground pool frame. These vertical posts provide support to the top rails and secure the pool wall in place. Uprights are made of either steel or resin and come in various sizes and shapes that match the pool's size and shape.

Top Rails

The top rails are the horizontal bars that run around the top of the pool and connect to the uprights. They are usually made of steel or resin and come in various sizes and shapes. The size and shape of the top rail sections are chosen based on the pool's contour and the uprights that have been selected.

Bottom Rails

The bottom rails are the horizontal bars that run around the bottom of the pool and connect to the uprights. They are made of the same materials, and also are widely available in different dimensions. Bottom rails are matched to the contour of the ground, the pool shape, and the uprights that have been selected.

Stabilizer Bars

Stabilizer bars are horizontal bars that run between the uprights to provide additional support to the pool wall. They are primarily made of steel, since it's stronger than resin. The stabilizers must be able to withstand lateral forces against the above-ground pool's frame.

Connectors

Connectors are the pieces that connect the various parts of the pool frame together. They're made of the same material as the components they connect to, and are chosen based on the thickness of the other components.

Caps and Covers

Caps and covers are the pieces that cover the ends of the pool's uprights and top rails. They are usually made of plastic or resin, as this material won't scratch or easily catch on fabric.

Wall

The pool wall is the component that separates the water from the surrounding area. It is most often made of vinyl, which is strong but somewhat flexible. Some walls are made of steel instead.

Liner

The liner is the material that covers the inside of the pool wall and the bottom of the pool. It's vinyl and is available in different colors and patterns, depending on the pool's design.

Pump and Filter

The pump and filter are the components that circulate and filter the water in the pool. They are usually located outside the pool, somewhere on the frame, and connected to the pool through hoses.
